Richard has been coaching since 2002.  Before he started coaching he played on the Professional Tennis Circuit for 4 years, both in Britain and abroad.  Whilst playing full time he also trained at the Sutton Tennis Academy.  He reached an L.T.A rating of 1.4

Richard’s highlights include playing in the Pre-Qualifying tournaments for the Wimbledon championships.  Richard has played in numerous National and Futures Tournaments.   He was a Junior County player from the age of 10 and was in the main draw of the U18s National Championships on more than one occasion.  Richard is still a member of the Senior Berkshire County team which played in Division One for three years. He plays in and has reached the finals of the prestigious National Premier Doubles League on three occasions with his brother Phil, also a member here.  He is the captain of the National Club League at MLTC.

Richard is the current MLTC Singles and Doubles Champion and has been on every occasion he has entered the tournament.

Richard has the LTA Club Coach Award [CCA] and as such is qualified to coach all levels of player.  He is fully licensed and has the enhanced CRB.

Richard is the Assistant Head Coach at Maidenhead Tennis Club and also provides a restringing service.
